A Brief Discussion on the Working Principle of Double Spiral Mixer
The two asymmetric spirals inside the barrel of the double helix mixer rotate upwards to lift the material, and the rotating arm moves slowly around the revolution; The material outside the spiral enters the screw column to varying degrees, achieving continuous updating and diffusion of the material in all circumferential directions. The two streams of material lifted to the upper part then converge towards the central cavity, forming a downward material flow that fills the gap at the bottom, thus creating a triple mixing effect of convective circulation.
The standard double helix mixer has two stirring spirals. In practical applications, depending on the equipment specifications, single (one long spiral), double (one asymmetric spiral for each length), and three (two short and one long symmetrically arranged) spirals can be used; In theory, the more stirring spirals there are, the better the mixing effect; The equipment generally adopts a plum blossom shaped "displacement valve", which is tightly attached to the bottom of the long spiral, effectively reducing mixing dead corners. The driving form is available in manual and pneumatic modes; According to user needs, the double helix mixer can also be equipped with butterfly valves, ball valves, star shaped discharge devices, edge discharge devices, etc.
